It was great to see Tom Cruise pick up a screen icon award at the Nation Movie Awards this week.  The collaboration of films this great actor has done really can inspire any actor dreams can come true. He has dedicated 20 years of his life to acting and we are so glad that he has.

Tom Cruise had a constant smile on throughout the show and seems to listen with admiration for our very own young British actors and actress’s from the ever popular film Harry Potter. To his left sat his very beautiful wife Katie Holmes who appears to be recapturing her youth, sat with longer hair than we are normally use to seeing and not too much make up either.

Katie has become somewhat of a fashion icon since being with Tom her trends are making their way into every woman’s house.  What we all like about Katie is she does appear to be very down to earth, she does not flaunt her wealth like a lot of other celebs, her outfits are obviously worth a pretty penny but as for her accessories, Katie often keeps her sterling silver jewellery to a bare minimum.  Often she is seen wearing sterling silver earrings and a ring and that’s about it.

Hopefully this year we will see a lot more from Tom and Katie within the acting field as they are both in their own right good actors.  Even though Katie has been venturing on the side of Broadway maybe after seeing her husband’s award last night will inspire her to continue making classic films.

Most people were maybe not big fans of Cheryl Cole as they were for Will I Am with regards to there actually music ability.  But as most celebs are finding out winning over the nation plays a big part as to whether you succeed or not.

Even though Cheryl was a famous celebrity in her own right for being apart of Girls Aloud it was who she married that would bring her greatest fame and not in the nicest way either. I think it was the fact nothing seemed to be secret everyone knew that Ashley Cole was unfaithful to what was now becoming the nations sweetheart.  We do have to admire Cheryl for the way she dealt with all the allegations about her husband, always remaining dignified.

As she took on the role of X-Factor it was this where we really saw Cheryl and how her rocky marriage had been affecting her.  Peoples stories of a loved one and the songs they would sing would bring tears to her eyes, where I think we all wanted to just give her a hug and tell her everything would be ok.

In-between the two shows of X-factor is where she started to collaborate more with Will I Am, she started to get back to who she was.  By the time the second show came about we started to see a real confident Cheryl appearing and know we wonder whether it was down to the friendship she held with the Black Eyed Peas Star.

Towards the end of the series and amongst the live finals it came out about yet another affair on Ashley’s part. Cheryl again extremely dignified never let her real emotions show and seemed to have an inner peace about it all.

This is where her friendship with Will I Am really started to blossom, he wanted to protect Cheryl and look after her.  Their collaborations started to reach the music charts and whether they will ever be romantically involved we can admire them on how they work together.  It is as if Cheryl needs her rock and Will has step up to that mark.

They are both world class celebrities now and both set the trend in the fashion world, Cheryl with her classy outfits, stunning sterling silver jewellery pieces and certainly her hair and Will a trend setter too, his hairstyles have had many men copy and he also seems to have a great sense of fashion. They both seem to work well together and have a mutual respect for one another not only as artists but as friends and work colleagues.   We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds for the gorgeous pair!

Last night England did us proud by winning 3-1 against Mexico, starting off what we hope will be a great summer of football ahead. The England side have a lot of expectations to live up to and we only hope that they do.

Whilst everyone wants to enjoy the World Cup especially those who are lucky enough to travel over to South Africa, safety is paramount.  There was a recent documentary which highlighted the dangers in Cape Town whether as a visitor there or merely a resident.   The country sees around 50 murders each day which equates to nearly 180000 a year, though this does seem to be on the decrease.

Whenever people travel, they do have to be careful about flaunting their cash around and this is particularly the place to ease with caution. With a lot of the locals having access to guns and whether they have been bought in a legitimate way or not, avoiding confrontations would be the best way to go.  The Police even though they have a presence are still extremely out numbered and there are lots of private security firms that have been taken on to tackle the fight against crime.

South Africa is an absolutely stunning country for its views and places of history to see, however it is certainly a country where the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.  This is evident when looking at the slums and how the majority of them are living daily.

Women especially need to be aware of expensive jewellery or anything that may look as though it is expensive such as charm bracelets or sterling silver jewellery. This either needs to be kept to a bare minimum or not worn at all. This may have been a hard one for the Wags (Wives and Girlfriends) however Capello does not appear to be a man to reason with, so when he says no WAGS allowed we think he means it!

We hope this year is our year for English Football and for those travelling abroad be aware of your surroundings and always travel as a group and most of all enjoy the experience.

Cheryl Set Style at the Cannes Film Festival

This week we have seen the ever glamorous Cheryl Cole wearing a beautiful gown designed by Roberto Cavalli, later she went onto change several times before finally staying in a red Julien McDonald minidress.  She did look absolutely stunning and if there is something that Cheryl Cole has learnt that is how to accessorise well with her outfits.

When wanting to look more elegant Cheryl compliments her gown with a pair of earrings and a bracelet set, from de Grisogono.  This particular style of earrings does appear to be a favourite design of Cheryl’s as we have also seen her wearing something similar in the X-Factor live finals and also during her interview with Jonathon Ross.

Later after Cheryl had performed at the Cannes she went on to change and also changed her jewellery again and wore a similar set of earrings however these were a fairly simple compared to the others and what appeared to look like a charm bracelet style bracelet on her wrist.  The bracelet however did appear to match the earrings, so knowing Cheryl this set had probably been made just for her.

Cheryl does seem to love her sterling silver jewellery and why not the colour really suits her and it she looks sensational in it.  I think this is something Cheryl prides herself on, wearing things that suit, whether this be clothes or accessories, it can look great and be extremely sophisticated at the same time.

Rubbish Jewellery not Quite!

We are all aware the credit crunch has been a way of saving money for some, a realisation they may need to start cycling to work instead of catching the bus every day.
