So after working as a model for Wilhelmina Models and being one of the leading cast members of the city, Olivia has also turned her talents to fashionable jewellery she has teamed up with Roberta Freymmann.  They have created a stunning range of silk jewellery with semi-precious stones similar to the semi-precious stones within the nomination jewellery range. They are really strong pieces of jewellery and reflect her love of wear something to stand out and speak for you. When we look about today, whether on the high street, television, music videos, religious buildings, jewellery,  we are faced with symbols and do we really know what they mean and what they stand for? Some symbols are really powerful and their meanings can be quite surprising.

When we walk down the high street we have symbols for shops for example the apple store is recognised by the use of an apple , MacDonals uses the big M and no matter where you go you can see and instantly recognise the logo and know what they stand for.

On television recently Ugly Betty showed Daniel Meade being taken in by a cult which displayed a picture of a bird inside a ring also known as the phoenix which symbolises worship to the fiery sun.  In the same show they used statues of a rams head means the ram-headed god of Ammon in ancient times.

Music videos is where we seeing a lot of popular musical artists using their hands to do visual signs with their hands to their fans.  Beyonce Knowles has been seen a long with others to do a pyramid sign with her hands which symbolises the all seeing eye which is also seen on the 1$ bill it is a universal symbol representing spiritual sight, inner vision, higher knowledge, insight into occult mysteries . Lady gaga is often seen using her hands to bring emphasis to her eye which is often related to the all Seeing Eye and the Evil Eye which has frightened people in many parts of the world through the centuries

When looking at religious buildings for the Church we see a Cross which represents the cross in which Jesus died, Jews have the star of David.  All these symbols are used on their buildings and they are symbols we see and recognise daily.

As we are entering into the next season of Autumn we also think of colours that match that season, there are many trends coming upon us and we will look at them more over the next couple of weeks but firstly lets look at what colours you can be focusing on to create the season’s look.

The sandy neutral colour is the colour you can be looking out for now, so all your creams and beiges are this seasons look.  Experiment with this versatile colour with stronger colours to create a striking ensemble that will set any causal or formal wear off.

This man is worth an estimated $23 billion dollars and something that started off as a childhood passion selling something that he could buy in bulk and still can make a small profit from it.  Anyone who knows IKEA knows that you can get good value for money and at a realistic price.  The designs are simplistic and this sums up Ingvar Kamprad.

As a multi-millionaire this man could literally spend his money on what he likes, buy what he likes, live where he likes and drive what he likes.  But this man lives what he preaches, he does none of the above and he encourages his employees to do the same. He is a man who still owns and drives a Volvo car that is 15 years old, will only fly economy class and does not like to see waste in the workplace and tells him employees to write on both sides of the paper. This is really outstanding for a man of his wealth to be so real and keep to the one thing that gave him his wealth, a passion for seeing people live with nice things that don’t cost the earth.

Yes he will spend a little on a nice home but he is a fan of his own business and often is seen at IKEA when he wants a cheap meal or to buy cheap presents he is often seen there.  Even when you think this man could take from the business what he likes he too still shops a lot during the sales. It is nice to know that some people who have made it cannot let it affect them that they really do live what they say.

Is a different style again similar to the concept of the sweetie bracelet by Links of London, the charms are fastened to the bracelet by a clip.  So creating new looks every day is extremely simple and easy to do so. This range is sterling silver too, however unlike the other charms bracelets people do find that this cannot be easily worn on a daily basis as the charms do hang off the bracelet and catch on other materials. But again each charm bracelet is always going to be down to personal preference.

Nomination
